Role

To provide support to the staff team in College when travelling offsite and utilising Seashell Transport by driving vehicles to and from venues.
• Responsible for the transport of students and staff to named destinations, taking responsibility for the vehicle and its safe use.
• Work as part of a team alongside staff to transport students where directed to, listen to and follow staff input and lead in terms of their knowledge of the student’s, likes and dislikes and how the student transitions between tasks, getting in and out of vehicles and provide what they need or require.
• Work alongside staff during sessions, build rapport and understanding of the students, use initiative, the role requires flexibility, adaptability and to be a good team player, looking for ways of making a difference.
• To work safely, inclusively and in person centred ways to support the children and young people’s participation, valuing individuality, choice, identity and culture.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment, inform staff if equipment is missing or broken or needs replacement, return the vehicles at the end of the trip within expected standards.
• To be aware of students’ individual needs and risk assessments as well as be familiar with session risk assessment
