SMART Recovery Peer Volunteer Facilitator

REF: 66f3fae6a0567

Volunteering as a peer recovery meeting facilitator with UK SMART Recovery is a deeply rewarding experience. Facilitators guide participants through a structured, science-based programme focused on self-empowerment and mutual support. Using cognitive behavioural techniques and motivational methods, you help individuals build the skills to manage their addictive behaviours and lead more balanced lives.

As a facilitator, you foster a safe, non-judgemental space where participants can share their experiences and challenges. It’s fulfilling to witness their growth and resilience, knowing that your support plays a vital role in their recovery journey. The role also offers personal development, enhancing your understanding of addiction and improving your communication and leadership skills.

While the work can be challenging, particularly in managing diverse group dynamics, the positive impact you make is profound. Each meeting is an opportunity to contribute to lasting change, both for participants and yourself.
