SMART Recovery Family & Friends Volunteer Facilitator

REF: 66fbba6ee751e

Volunteering as a facilitator for SMART Family & Friends meetings is an enriching experience, offering support to those affected by a loved one’s addictive behaviours. As a facilitator, you guide participants through SMART Recovery's structured, evidence-based programme, which focuses on self-care, effective communication, and setting healthy boundaries.

Your role is to create a supportive, non-judgemental space where family members and friends can openly share their challenges and experiences. It's rewarding to see participants develop coping strategies and gain confidence in managing their relationships with loved ones. The focus is on empowering them to take control of their own emotional well-being, rather than trying to fix or control the behaviour of others.

Facilitating these meetings also enhances your interpersonal skills, empathy, and understanding of the complexities of addiction. While it can be emotionally challenging, knowing you're helping others to regain balance in their lives brings immense satisfaction.
