Organisation description:

We are a local, inclusive group for Stockport’s LGBT+ community as well as their friends, family members and allies. We provide board game nights, group walks, litter picks and badminton sessions. We also host queer clothes swaps and weekly ‘Spill theT’ socials to improve wellbeing, support each other through challenges, and have fun. Since our inception in March 2020, we have worked to make our borough an inclusive place to live and work. We have worked with local equality networks, VCFSE partners, businesses and members of the community to host solidarity events for the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia, and for the Transgender Day of Remembrance. We are commissioned to facilitate the LGBTQIA+ network in Stockport which recently marked a huge historical success - the community wrote a motion which was passed by the council in November, recognising that our community suffers health inequalities and discrimination and committing to points of action including making improvements to access to healthcare, encouraging schools and educational establishments to sign up to inclusion programmes and to discern and mitigate the causes of hate crime.
