We appreciate all the support our volunteer team offer at our friendly shop in Woodley - could you become part of the team? You will work with the Shop Manager and other team members to create a welcoming and vibrant shop to engage the local community and raise funds for Beechwood Cancer Care As a retail volunteer you will become part of our Retail Team. Broadly, the role will encompass the following: Customer service - General housekeeping - Merchandising and Displays - Sorting Stock -Handling Cash - Pricing Stock - Researching goods - Tagging Clothes - Steaming Clothes - Manual Handling of donations and stock - Teamwork with the other retail volunteers

We welcome all the help that our amazing volunteers offer Beechwood. No experience is necessary - just a willingness to learn and work as part of our friendly team at the charity shop in Woodley Precinct. Most volunteers do a morning or afternoon shift 1-3 times a week but we can be flexible around what suits you. We appreciate all the support and hope that you will enjoy your volunteering experience with us - from learning new skills, meeting new people, being part of the local community, helping your CV and supporting a local charity.

Organisation description:

Beechwood is a local charity based in Stockport which offers support to those living with cancer, as well as their relatives and carers. We first began offering cancer care back in 1990, and since then, our Centre has helped many people. We understand how cancer and illness can affect someone’s life, and we also know how helpful it can be to talk with other clients and carers. Visitors to our Centre can choose from a range of support, including: One-to-one counselling sessions Complementary therapies Group sessions with other clients/carers We can help with every stage of illness, and our Centre visitors include those who have just been diagnosed and need a listening ear, people at different stages of treatment and those ready to move on following treatment.
